On this Day 12th April 1966 Tom Jones entered the exclusive London Clinic to have his tonsils removed. Whilst under sedation the Clinic was inundated with calls from well-wishers and fans hoping to get his severed tonsils as a gross memento. The prized tonsils eventually mysteriously disappeared from the Clinic, whereabouts unknown.
Previously Jones, a heavy smoker was warned that cigarettes were causing damage to his throat.
It was also rumoured that whilst at the Clinic he had his first nose job.
