On this day, 21 Nov 1974, Humble Pie supported by McGuinness Flint played the Capitol Theatre, Cardiff, having played Cardiff University two years previously in March 1972.
The band comprised of former Small Faces frontman Steve Marriott on vocals and guitar, Dave ‘Clem’ Clempson on guitar, (who had replaced Peter Frampton in 1971), Greg Ridley on bass guitar and Jerry Shirley on drums.
The band had been formed by Marriott in Moreton, Essex during 1969. They are known as one of the first supergroups of the late 1960s, and found success on both sides of the Atlantic in the early 1970s.
